Brian-Christopher A. Cunningham is the Democratic New York State Assembly Member for the 43rd District in Brooklyn, first elected in March 2022 and re-elected in November 2024. He is the son of Jamaican immigrants, a lifelong resident of Flatbush, and has dedicated his career to public service, including work as a senior aide in legislative offices and as the first person to run a Cure Violence site in New York City. Since taking office, he has secured over $1 billion in state funding for his district, focusing on housing, education, public safety, and economic opportunity.
