Eli Northrup is a public defender, policy expert, and candidate for New York State Assembly District 69. He has over a decade of experience representing individuals who cannot afford an attorney and serves as Legal Director for the Criminal Defense Practice at The Bronx Defenders. Northrup previously ran for this seat in 2024 and is running to defend progressive values, take on urgent threats, and fight for working families.

    Eli Northrup supports the RECOURSE Act to withhold payments to the federal government if funds are unlawfully blocked, the New York Civil Rights Act to ensure a legal right of action for rights violations, fighting federal threats to SNAP, healthcare, and other benefits (including the SNAP for All Act), and ensuring fair and equal representation through accurate census counts and a dedicated Office of Census Counts.

    Eli Northrup supports the Consumer Grocery Pricing Fairness Act to prevent price gouging and discriminatory pricing practices for smaller grocers, aiming to lower food costs.
