Jessica Ramos supports strengthening tenant protections, legalizing basement apartments, securing a Green New Deal for Public Housing, and increasing affordable housing stock without privatization. She has pushed for Good Cause Eviction protections and helped pass historic tenant protections in 2019.

Ramos opened a food pantry in the district and restored funding for the Langston Hughes Library.

Ramos championed the $2.1 billion Excluded Workers Fund providing relief to immigrant and gig workers left out of federal pandemic aid. She aims to extend relief to workers not reached in the first round and fix structural failures in unemployment insurance and the safety net.

Ramos has raised the minimum wage and indexed it to inflation, passed the Farm Laborers Fair Labor Standards Act, recognized domestic workers under the NY Human Rights Law, passed the Construction Wage Theft Bill, the Captive Audience Ban, the Statewide Salary Disclosure Law, the Retail Worker Safety Act, the Warehouse Worker Protection Act, ended mandatory overtime for nurses, passed AI performer protections, and the NLRB Trigger Law. She aims to fix worker misclassification for gig and app-based workers and protect the right to organize.

Ramos advocates for extending existing transit lines, building new service on freight corridors connecting Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx, and creating protected networks for cyclists, pedestrians, and e-bikes. She killed the $2 billion LaGuardia AirTrain and passed the MTA Capital Dashboard Open Data Law.
