She has over 15 years of service in the district, including as Chair of the Education Committee for Queens Community Board 12 and founder of the nonprofit Projects II Projects, which focuses on youth empowerment and community development.

  • Affordability

    LeGrand supports the Fair Share Act to ensure wealthy New Yorkers contribute fairly, the Repair Act to end excessive tax breaks for large private institutions, the Melt Act for transparency from federal immigration agents, fixing Tier VI retirement, strengthening oversight of state agencies and landlords, and establishing a NYCHA task force led by residents and tenant advocates to address racial and environmental inequities.

  • Education & Youth Empowerment

    LeGrand supports fully funded public schools, construction of additional high schools, strengthening IEP and special education services with more counselors and age-appropriate interventions, building STEM and vocational pipelines through SUNY/CUNY partnerships, expanding after-school and mentorship programs for youth in public housing and foster care, and supporting parent-principal partnerships to fund after-school programs in high-need communities.

  • Housing Justice

    LeGrand pledges to fight for housing justice, affordable homeownership, and strong tenant protections, including establishing a NYCHA task force led by residents, tenant advocates, and environmental experts to address racial and environmental inequities in planning and development.
