Phara Souffrant Forrest is an American politician, nurse, and tenant activist representing the 57th district of the New York State Assembly, which includes Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, and parts of Bedford-Stuyvesant and Crown Heights in Brooklyn. A daughter of Haitian immigrants and a lifelong resident of the district, she was first elected in 2020 and is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America. She is running for reelection in the 2026 Democratic primary.
