Where they stand
Everyone Pays Their Fair Share
Pia supports revising laws to increase taxes on the wealthiest individuals and most profitable corporations to protect vulnerable New Yorkers and strengthen communities, noting that funding for SNAP, Medicaid, and special education has decreased while tax breaks for high-income individuals have increased.
Their priorities
Issues Pia is raising that aren't a shared debate across the field.
Affordability Agenda
Pia supports the New York State Assembly's affordability agenda, including lower taxes, utility bill assistance, and investments to help families make ends meet. She believes every New Yorker deserves access to quality education, affordable childcare, safe affordable housing, and economic opportunities.
Animal Rights
Pia supports reforms such as Penny's Law to strengthen responsible dog ownership standards and ensure meaningful consequences when negligence leads to injury or death, following the brutal killing of a dog named Neelu in Sunnyside, Queens.
Building Climate Resilience
Pia believes in shifting reliance from fossil fuels and non-renewable resources toward sustainable development. Climate resilience also means strengthening coastlines and storm water drainage to prevent flooding, as experienced during Hurricane Ida.
LGBTQIA+ Rights
Pia advocates for expanded access to gender-affirming care, strengthening anti-bullying protections in schools through updated laws and full funding, and improving employment support for queer and trans workers.
Health Care for All New York
Pia will work to bring universal healthcare to New York by supporting legislation that guarantees coverage for every resident, including expanding Medicaid eligibility through state-funded options so that immigrants and gig workers are not left behind.
