LeGrand supports the Fair Share Act to ensure wealthy New Yorkers contribute fairly, the Repair Act to end excessive tax breaks for large private institutions, the Melt Act for transparency from federal immigration agents, fixing Tier VI retirement, strengthening oversight of state agencies and landlords, and establishing a NYCHA task force led by residents and tenant advocates to address racial and environmental inequities.

Johnson says rent is too high and it is time to fight for affordability so that families can stay in New York and not be displaced by rent hikes. She highlights the crisis at Rochdale Village where rising carrying charges threaten eviction for working families and seniors.

Nathaniel Hezekiah III identifies a real affordability problem and pledges to fight back in Albany. He supports a path to homeownership, housing assistance, and measures to help families build generational wealth.

LeGrand supports fully funded public schools, construction of additional high schools, strengthening IEP and special education services with more counselors and age-appropriate interventions, building STEM and vocational pipelines through SUNY/CUNY partnerships, expanding after-school and mentorship programs for youth in public housing and foster care, and supporting parent-principal partnerships to fund after-school programs in high-need communities.

Johnson is committed to fully funding public schools, expanding after-school programs, creating career pathways, and making universal childcare a reality. She supports taxing the rich to fund free childcare for every New Yorker aged six weeks to five years.

Hezekiah supports expanding 3-K for all students statewide and a 2-K pilot, expanding the Excelsior program for college access, giving parents options including public charter schools, ensuring compliance with reduced class size in NYC, and developing trade school programs through partnerships with unions and school districts.

LeGrand pledges to fight for housing justice, affordable homeownership, and strong tenant protections, including establishing a NYCHA task force led by residents, tenant advocates, and environmental experts to address racial and environmental inequities in planning and development.

Queen Johnson supports keeping families in their homes by protecting homeowners from predatory investors, deed theft, and foreclosures, expanding opportunities for first-time homebuyers, strengthening tenant protections, investing in NYCHA, defending rent stabilization, and creating a Social Housing Development Authority to build and preserve affordable housing with union labor. She also opposes privatization of Mitchell-Lamas and NYCHA units.

Hezekiah will fight to ensure Mitchell-Lama residents are not priced out, hold landlords accountable, combat rising costs, increase capital improvement support, strengthen enforcement, increase penalties for code violations, improve coordination between state and city agencies, ensure transparent reporting, support tenant organizing, and support construction of affordable rentals and co-ops through tax credits.

LeGrand supports expanding community-based violence prevention programs and strengthening the Crisis Management System with state funding and oversight, ending cooperation between local law enforcement and federal immigration agencies to protect immigrant families, and increasing access to mental health and substance abuse services in NYCHA developments and foster care communities.

Johnson advocates for safer streets through investing in youth programs, mental health services, quality-of-life improvements, and community-based policing where neighbors help keep their neighborhoods safe.

Hezekiah lost his father and stepfather to gun violence and will fund preventative gun violence initiatives, support community-based nonprofits, fight for HOPE grant funds, expand safe spaces for youth through clergy partnerships, advocate for a new community center, and support holistic efforts addressing root causes of violence.

Johnson's campaign does not take a dime from corporate PACs, real estate, or fossil fuel money, emphasizing a people-powered grassroots campaign.

LeGrand supports increasing resources for mothers in shelters including childcare, job training, and housing assistance; expanding funding for domestic violence shelters and family support services; and advocating for universal childcare, childcare subsidies for low-income families, and free community college programs that offer Community-Based Child Development Associate pathways.

Hezekiah will fight for increased state Medicaid funding to fill gaps from federal cuts, advocate for Southeast Queens representation in the State Health Insurance Program, create opportunities for people to retain SNAP benefits, and ensure access to Medicaid for special needs students.

LeGrand supports ending cooperation between local law enforcement and federal immigration agencies to protect immigrant families.

Johnson will fight to protect immigrant communities by strengthening New York’s sanctuary laws, increasing oversight of local cooperation with federal immigration enforcement, and expanding access to legal services to protect families from harmful ICE practices.
