Oster Bryan supports regulating generative AI for safety and worker justice, opposing its use for public-facing services, emergency services, or job replacements, and requiring transparency in AI use.

Vanel has sponsored extensive legislation on AI and cryptocurrency, including a task force to study a state-issued cryptocurrency, an AI bill of rights, licensing for advanced AI systems, and prohibitions on deceptive AI-generated political media. He also supports using blockchain for electronic signatures and studying blockchain in elections.

Vanel has sponsored legislation to prohibit leaded aviation gasoline, impose restrictions on lead-containing products, and prohibit illegal dumping on public property.

Oster Bryan advocates for enforcing the NYS Green Amendment to ensure clean air and water, opposing the proposed waste transfer station and lithium-ion battery plant in the district, and addressing emissions from JFK Airport. He has organized with the Southeast Queens Residents Environmental Justice Coalition (SQREJC) to close harmful projects.

Oster Bryan supports term limits for the State Assembly and State Senate, proposing a maximum of four 2-year terms, and will advocate for a ballot proposal to let voters decide.

Vanel has sponsored legislation to remove cause requirements for absentee ballots, require electronic voter verification at polling places, and prohibit deceptive AI-generated political communications within 60 days of an election.

Oster Bryan advocates for fully funding daycare, salary parity between public school teachers and daycare workers, closing the child care assistance waitlist, expanding services for infants and toddlers, fully funding CUNY and SUNY, restoring free tuition, increasing diversity in specialized high schools by preparing students for the SHSAT starting in middle school, and ending mayoral control of education to allow more community input.

Vanel has sponsored bills to require disclosure of minors' personal information collected by internet platforms and to prevent online platforms from promoting dangerous content to minors.

Oster Bryan opposes predatory lending and deed theft, supports ending deed theft, creating sensible affordable housing while maintaining neighborhood character, and passing the Community Land Act to enable community land trusts. He also supports the City Council's Community Opportunity to Purchase Act (COPA).

Vanel has sponsored bills to establish a housing court, provide legal services to small property owners, require lease copies for tenants, subsidize closing costs for low-income tenants purchasing homes, and regulate evictions after foreclosure.

Oster Bryan calls for preventing gun violence by addressing root causes such as economic hardship and adverse childhood experiences, investing in afterschool programs, mental health support, crisis management systems, and quality public education, and creating third spaces for youth. He opposes overpolicing that feeds the school-to-prison pipeline.

Vanel has sponsored legislation to enhance penalties for crimes against the elderly, establish new crimes for package theft, cyber extortion, and criminal impersonation, and require data collection on interrogations. He also supports studying surveillance in correctional facilities and reporting incidents.

Oster Bryan states he does not believe in funding by special interests—corporate developers, super PACs, or big business—and will never take their money as a candidate or Assemblymember.
