Grace Lee supported the LLC Transparency Act to stop bad actors from hiding behind anonymous shell companies and strengthen accountability for employers who exploit workers.

Grace Lee passed the Hate Crimes Modernization Act, the first strengthening of New York's hate crimes law in 20 years, expanding the list of offenses that can be prosecuted as hate crimes.

Grace Lee has passed Good Cause Eviction protections, secured $400M in ERAP funding for NYCHA and Section 8 residents, expanded Housing Access Vouchers, cut property taxes for Mitchell-Lama buildings, and passed new affordable housing programs including 485-x and office-to-residential conversions. She is fighting to freeze rent, protect SCRIE/DRIE benefits, extend J-51 tax abatement, fund NYCHA, build social housing, and create more affordable housing through office-to-residential conversions.

Grace Lee introduced the ICE Contract Transparency Act requiring companies doing business with New York State to disclose contracts with ICE. She fought for and helped secure legislation to end most state and local cooperation with ICE, forbid ICE agents from wearing masks, ban contracts between local jails and ICE, keep ICE out of schools/hospitals/places of worship, and empower New Yorkers to sue federal agents for civil rights violations. She also supports the New York for All Act, MELT Act, RADAR Act, New York Civil Rights Act, and SAFE AIR Act.

Grace Lee stood with labor to include wage standards in the 485-x housing program, fought for cost-of-living adjustments for human services workers, supported the LLC Transparency Act, and supported stronger protections against wage theft. She co-sponsors legislation to strengthen worker safety protections, combat wage theft, and protect whistleblowers. She supports reforming Tier 6 pension plan, closing loopholes in 485-x to protect wage reporting, and building affordable housing on state-owned land with prevailing-wage jobs.

Grace Lee passed the Stop Hiding Hate Act to hold social media platforms accountable for hate speech, helped pass the FAIR Business Practices Act, raised fines on lawbreaking corporations, and capped real estate listing agreements. She is fighting to revoke tax breaks for private universities, ban junk fees, end corporate price gouging including algorithmic price-setting, and hold crypto scammers accountable.

Grace Lee helped pass a law to protect abortion providers from harassment and intimidation, secured $36 million in state funding for abortion access, passed legislation to protect sensitive health data, and campaigned for Proposition 1 to strengthen reproductive freedom in the state constitution. She is fighting to protect survivors in civil court, protect survivor DNA privacy, and rein in crisis pregnancy centers.

Grace Lee sponsored and passed a bill requiring the NYC Board of Elections to notify elected officials within five days of any polling place change. She supports banning ICE from being near poll sites and reforming the redistricting process to ensure fairness.

Grace Lee co-sponsored and helped pass the RAISE Act establishing safety standards for advanced AI systems. She is fighting to regulate high-risk AI systems to prevent algorithmic discrimination, stop surveillance pricing, and enact a moratorium on new data center permits while studying their impact on utility costs and the environment.

Grace Lee introduced legislation to protect drinking water from PFAS chemicals, advanced legislation for independent community monitors at brownfield cleanup sites near schools, and helped pass the Climate Change Superfund to require polluters to pay for climate adaptation. She supports the Climate Corporate Data Accountability Act, an Office of Equity for Energy and Climate, strengthening NYPA's role in renewable power, a clean fuel standard, the ASAP Act for solar expansion, producer responsibility for packaging waste, and the New York Youth Climate Corps.

Grace Lee helped secure a record $35.9 billion in school aid, delivered universal free school meals for all New York students, secured a statewide bell-to-bell cell phone ban in public schools, and passed the AANHPI Education Equity Act. She is fighting to fully fund public schools and reform Foundation Aid, intervene early on literacy, create a $1,000 educator tax credit, and pass the New Deal for CUNY.

Grace Lee helped lead advocacy to upgrade EBT cards with chip technology to reduce SNAP theft, and helped provide universal free school meals. She is fighting to lower grocery prices via the Consumer Grocery Pricing Fairness Act, and supports the Protect, Invest, and Expand Food Security package and SNAP for All regardless of immigration status.

Grace Lee believes healthcare is a right. She passed a bill to lower health insurance premiums for workers at local health centers serving Medicaid patients, helped pass legislation to strengthen oversight of hospital closures, and secured funding for safety-net hospitals. She is fighting for universal single-payer healthcare via the New York Health Act, lower prescription drug costs, patient right-to-know legislation, and a state-funded essential plan for low-income New Yorkers.

Grace Lee introduced legislation to allow the state to alter or repeal real property tax exemptions for private institutions of higher education. She is fighting to pass the New Deal for CUNY, increasing faculty and mental health counselor ratios and replacing tuition with public funding.

Grace Lee co-sponsored the 2025 omnibus corrections package to strengthen oversight of state prisons and prevent staff abuse, including whistleblower protections and independent monitoring requirements.

Grace Lee supports reforming the Tier 6 pension plan, including standardizing a mandatory 3% contribution to reduce the burden on newer public employees and improve recruitment and retention.

Grace Lee passed the Hate Crimes Modernization Act, helped pass the Clean Slate Act, and co-sponsored the 2025 omnibus corrections package to strengthen oversight of state prisons. She is fighting to expand treatment courts and mental health diversion, end qualified immunity, reform parole through Elder Parole and Fair & Timely Parole, expand community councils, and invest in community-based mental health care.

Grace Lee secured funding for elevators at the Delancey-Essex St Subway Station and introduced congestion pricing exemptions for low-income residents of Lower and Midtown Manhattan. She supports expanding free bus routes and legislation to require license plates and registration for certain e-bikes to improve pedestrian safety.
